The Old Ones
Together again on a
Cold dark Winter's night
We sit bundled up in front
of a roaring fire and
Settle in to chat
Talking about our past
Sipping mulled wine
Where did the time go?
How could we now
be the old ones?
Wrapped up against the cold
Remembering our vanished youth
The fire warms us
on the outside
The wine on the inside
Making our memories
deeper...
longer...
sharper...
as the night draws to dawn
