Geoff smiled to himself all the way home. He could not believe he had been so bold, but decided to blame it on the moon, the lake, and starlight sparkling like diamonds on the water. His brain was in overdrive as he planned the day with Ellie tomorrow. Had they really only met tonight? To him it seemed as though she has always been there. That missing puzzle piece fell into place and locked tight with a click in his heart the minute Lucy introduced them.
Lucy had given him a bit of Ellie's back story the day before the party. Newly single after ending a ten year relationship with a man much older, she was looking forward to the single life again, at least for a while. He had to take a very deep breath, make sure he took thing very slow and be sure he eventually won her heart.
Geoff knew Ellie was smart, independent and successful. Her job was flexible. Since it was travel oriented, she could work almost anywhere there was a major airline hub. Relocation should not be an issue, But he also knew Ellie needed time and space to be on her own before anything serious moved into her life again.
Well, Geoff had all the time she might need. His little corner of the Universe viewed him as the most eligible bachelor, and the best catch in four counties. This had been the case since he turned the corner from his teen years and took over the family business from his grandfather. This would allow him time to do things right, go slow, court her like the Southern gentleman he was and as the Sothern Lady she was would expect. Geoff had to woo Ellie back to her roots, allow her time to rediscover herself as an independent woman, let her know he respected that and would never take it away.
He knew Ellie, like Lucy, would want a partner, someone she could share her life and enjoy the finer things life has to offer. Just like Lucy, she didn't need a man to take care of her. Ellie was self-sufficient, career minded, successful and financially independent. The fact he came from old Southern money and lived mostly on the Trust his grandfather left him would not impress her. That made their future all the better because they each had their own financial stabillity.
Making the final turn toward home, Geoff smiled and knew exactly what he would do tomorrow for Ellie's surprise, He knew she expected an adventure and that is exactly what he had planned. That decided, he walked upstairs and slept like a baby for the first time in years.
To be continued ...
Always, I wish you peace, joy and happiness, but most of all I wish you Love.
As Ever, Annie
