Jesse and Sarah had been childhood sweethearts. So often as things happen in our lives, they were parted as young adults through no choice of their own. He due to war and she due to her family moving away because of that same damned war. They never forgot each other...first love and young love are lasting even when parted.
Fastforward 50 years or so...the age of technology and being able to find just about anyone, anywhere, anytime if you just have the patience. Jesse was determined to find Sarah. He had a wonderful marriage for nearly 45 years, three grown children, lovely grandchildren, but was now widowed and lonely. He thought of Sarah almost daily.
Jesse's youngest son helped him set up a FaceBook account and he started a blog titled 'Searching for Sarah'. About six months later while checking blog comments, he found one that seemed promising. It had to be her...and it was!
Tomorrow, he would finally have his intended bride...his Sarah. Neither of them cared that they were closer to 80 than 60. Neither cared that their lives had been so different since parting when the war began...so different from what they had planned when they were young and in love. What mattered now was they found each other, loved each other, and their families were one hundred percent behind their union.
Just before midnight, each had a knock on their bedroom door. Sarah's daughter, Emma was there just to make sure her mother was ready for the big day tomorrow. Jesse's son, Jake was at his door as well. Each child waited for their parent to answer wanting them to be sure everything was moving forward as planned for the next day. Emma and Jake were both surprised to find empty bedrooms and a note propped on the pillow..."Gone to Vegas...could not wait"!
Always, I wish you peace, joy, and happiness, but most of all I wish you LOVE.
Never give up, you may have lost that special love, that soul mate, but the Universe has a way of righting wrongs if things were meant to be.
As Ever, Annie
