Painting Refuge
Cool greens and yellows
A hint of a path
Leading into the forest
Sunshine illuminating the way
Safety...
Serenity...
Healing...
My secret place...
My refuge...
My escape...
When the world becomes
too much to handle
This painting...
Giving me solace
Healing...and
Enough courage to
Walk back into
a Cruel Reality

Always, I wish you peace, joy and happiness, but most of all I wish you Love.
As Ever, Annie
During the mid 70's, I was in grad school at Texas Tech. Toward the end of my program while writing my Thesis, I hit a wall, lost confidence and was not sure I could go on. Taking a Sunday afternoon for myself, I wandered through a starving artist show. I found a painting much like the one above and it would not leave me alone. I walked away dozens of times only to find myself right back falling into the depths of the scene on canvas. My funds were limited, but I sacrificed the few dollars for the painting. It brought me peace when I needed it then and still does to this day. Not a fine art piece, but something that spoke to me. The best money ever spent!
