My year from a year ago this time has been remarkable, interesting, heartbreaking, unbelievable, changing, and oh so much more.
Usually a look back is done on New Year's Eve…well, there will be something for that day. Since I began blogging last year around Thanksgiving, my life has been enriched by so many people. People who I am proud to call friends. People I never in my life thought I would meet. People who have supported me, mentored me, been my greatest Muse(s), and listened when no one else was there.
What amazes me the most is these are people I have never met face to face, except through Skype and phone calls. People who I met through Twitter, FaceBook, and reading their books. Social media is an amazing thing and I might need an intervention soon!
Because of my blogging, I have started writing poetry on a daily basis. Have had wonderful mentors encourage me in this writing and even started a blog that is for my poetry only and I post a new original poem there every day. I am not the best poet on the face of the earth, but I do have a very large following for my poetry on Twitter, Tumblr, and my WordPress poetry site. I have met some other amazing poets in the process. Their encouragement has made me realize I do have something to say and my style of poetry seems to be something people relate to and identify with when read.
I have been honored to be able to mentor new poets along the way. People who felt they could not write poetry or didn't like poetry, but their work is beautiful. Some I have had the pleasure and honor of sharing on my website(s) and will continue to add guest poets in the future.
I could go on and on and on, but this is enough for right now. My faithful readers, follower and friends know who they are and I will not begin to list them for fear of leaving someone out and that would kill me. These are people I think of as family. I am the end of the line of my biological family, so I have created a wonderful family of friends.
So on this Eve of Christmas Eve, I leave you with my Best Wishes for a wonderful holiday season, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year. Hold family and friends dear and always remember … It is more Blessed to give than to receive.
