Yesterday was a hurry up and wait day. Doctor appointments ALL morning, one of which I should not have needed when I got to my orthopedic appointment. Such is life...should not have had to do the family practice appointment. The orthopedic's office told me I should have been directed to them immediately on Friday due to the type injury and my insurance coverage ... so wasted time and money on something I should not have needed to deal with in the grand scheme of things.
Got home about 3pm yesterday exhausted and needing pain meds since I had nothing since Sunday at bedtime. Ortho doc is awesome ... no surgery, sling healing for 6-8 weeks. He gave me light exercises to begin until then, and reduced my pain medication to half the pill I was perscribed by the ER attending and only at bedtime...Tylenol as needed during the day otherwise and released me to go back to work.
Due to a statement the family practice doctor made on my paperwork about possible surgery and medication impairment with surgery, my risk management department would not let me return to work today. The ortho doctor's statement trumped that one...but have to get new statement from him before I can go back to work.
Today has been restful...yet, dealing with way tooooo many people and issues to get back to work. Still playing phone tag with the company representing my incident since the fall happened at a local restaurant. Have had all other questions answered, just waiting to see what the big dogs will do for me.
Another day home tomorrow might be good. Some stiffness and tender areas have been creeping in since the fall and resting today has made a big difference. Did my exercise this morning and have had a tylenol for stiffness about an hour ago. Pain in my arm has been surprisingly limited. The bruising on my arm below the fracture is more uncomfortable than the fracture itself.
So the name of the game ... waiting still ...
To B Continued ...
Always I wish you peace, joy and happiness, but most of all I wish you Love.
As ever, Annie
