The following post was one I did on Christmas Eve, 2012. I have come a long way in my blogging life since then! Updates to this post for this year will be in red.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I want to thank all of the people who are special in my life this holiday season. This post is to honor them and try something new for me…inserting music into my blog. I have the songs downloaded and saved, now to see if I can actually make this happen!
Well, I have tried for an hour…music is downloaded, saved, and audio player is loaded…music will not play…just not meant to be right now. Back to the drawing board for me with music…I will not let it beat me!!! (This was from a different blog site … now can include music like a pro! Check out the bottom of this post!)
Today’s blog post comes from the title cut of Rod Stewart’s 2012 Merry Christmas, Baby CD and a favorite. Rod Stewart is one of my all time favorite singers and just gets better and better with age as his voice mellows and matures.
Maybe I will master this music thing eventually and get to share some favorite tunes before I am scooting along in the Retirement Center using my walker. Until that happens, please enjoy a couple of Holiday Pictures.
Below you will find a couple of pictures from a Twitter friend @Lorries68. This is a picture of the annual San Antonio River Walk parade with my poetry attached.
This picture is of the Hollywood Studio Lights that Lorrie asked me to create a poem for just this morning. She told me the lights actually “dance” on and off in time with Holiday Music being played. This was a bit challenging for me due to the colorful picture. I hope you enjoy it as much I enjoyed creating the poetry.
Here is the YouTube insert for Rod Stewart's Merry Christmas, Baby! that I was not able to provide last year!
Special holiday thanks and appreciation to the following amazing people: @rossssc, @cockeyedsusan, @mrbabypants, @cletisstump. Everyone is a dear friend who has been there for me when I need them on more than one occasion. Also, Susy, Cletis and Pat have encouraged me to get back to my writing and this blog is a part of that encouragement. Each of these special people are accomplished writers in their own right. I am humbled with their belief in me and my struggles to get thoughts on paper that actually make sense to anyone but me.
Cletis L Stump has a stunning tumblr site that pairs poetry, micro poetry, and haiku with accompanying pictures. Please take time to visit this site for a very unique treat.
This year's update: More wonderful writers have entered my life to complement those listed above;
Heidi Barnes @heidibarnes11 author of the Obsession Series - a must read, Kellie Elmore @kellie_elmore who writes amazing poetry and is my Writing Bandit mentor who has just published her newest book Candy from Strangers, Gay-LynnWoods @gaelynnwoods and her terrifying East Texas crime drama series that begins with the Devil of Light. These authors and their awesome books may be found on Amazon.com, please take time to check them out. I promise you will not be disappointed!
Click on the blue highlighted names to go to their individual websites.
Since last Christmas Eve, I have also published my first Kindle ebook. It is a novella being published in installments titled Stars Fell Down and can also be found at Amazon.com. The cover photography was provided by my friend Beth Kraige who is an accomplished photographer
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Brightest Blessings to you and yours. I personally look forward to an amazing New Year…2013…where did all the years go that brought us this far.(http://texasmusings.blog.com/2012/12/24/merry-christmas-baby/ this is the link to the original post from last Christmas Eve)
2013 has been interesting on many levels and 2014 will continue to find me on my journey as a writer. I have a new series up my sleeve, but it will be a while getting to publication.
Always…I wish you peace, joy and happiness, but most of all I wish you Love.
As Ever, Annie
