As Far as He Could Go

As Far as He Could Go

Heart pounding...
Determined...
He climbed the pecan
tree for the 
first time

Going higher than
planned...
Caught up in 
a moment of freedom

He realized with a "Meow"
that the way down
was scary

So...
Climbing higher 
meowing constantly
he only made matters worse

No amount of coaxing...
pleading...
talking...
could get him to the center of the tree

Climbing even higher...
Then...
Out on a limb
He decides 
jumping is the preferred method
to going down the way 
he climbed up

So...
From 20 feet he flew
Landing on all four
with that built-in
kitten gyroscope working perfectly

He shook off the landing
in surprise
Scare out of his wits
But...
In a definite 
"big cat" moment
Looked up as if to say
"I planned to do that!"

The above picture is one from Google Images, but looks strangely like my kitten Bug.  He had a second climbing event after the first, but with me talking him down was able to come down the way he went up.  Again, he climbed the pecan tree, three experiences now, but only went a tiny way up, turned around and came back down ... I think he has tree climbing figured out!
