The Climb


Looking up I can see the top
Yet, what is waiting for me when I get there

I place one foot tentatively
on the first step
Unsure, I almost turn around
I almost leave...uncertain...scared

But...something...someone...
Is beckoning me
Calling me 
Like a Siren Song of the Sea
I cannot ignore this calling

So...another step upward
 I wait and listen...
it is there again
That tug...
That pull of my soul...
Drawing me
Ever upward

Slowly...confidently...
One step and then another
Now knowing I could not
Go Back
Eager to Continue

Halfway there...
I pause, knowing there is 
NO turning back
Ever upward...the calling is
Stronger...
Louder...
With each step I take

A whisper of encouragement
I am almost there...
Excited...yet,
Scared...
Ready for the 
Challenge

My foot touches the final landing
AND
I feel overwhelming
Love...
Protection...
Contentment

A quiet voice speaks
You are finally here
We have been waiting so long 
Welcome ~
to your
FUTURE
