Not looking back, Ellie continued to the patio, seeking out Lucy and Jerry. They were settled at the table nearest the dance area, clearly not finished for the evening. Both of them looked at Ellie and with wide-eyes following Geoff as he trailed after her like a well-trained puppy. Putting down my glass and plate, I gave Lucy a qick hug and kiss on the cheek whispering, "Thank you!" into her ear.
Lucy pulled back to get a better look at my face, but especially my eyes, and cocked an eyebrow as if to say, "What for?" Seeing the look on Geoff's face, suddenly her smile arranged itself into an all knowing "Oh"! She was reaing both our faces for something that really wasn't there on my part, but I allowed her to continue her own fantasies a while longer.
Jerry and Geoff joined us, chatting casually about basketball. Men, when two of them are together, conversation immediately turns to some ball related sport. Bearing that, the alternative is fishing, favorite fishing gear and secret fishing spots.
Turning to Lucy, I asked "What is on your agenda for me tomorrow?" Lucy's eyes widened again! "Well, that is my little surprise," she said quickly trying to cover my directness. "You are on a vacation of sorts and my time is my own...so, the sky's the limit. Just be ready for anything and be surprised at nothing!"
I could tell Geoff was listening more to my conversation with Lucy than he was to Jerry. He turned, looked at me and without a word kissed me like he owned my lips. Kissing him back claiming his as my own, he pulled me closer. Not caring that we were in a room filled with prying eyes and professional Southern gossip mongers, I gave into his dedication to my pleasure and returned my own. Feeling like a teenager making out in front of my family, I went along for the ride. That mouth held magic of the ages...steamy.
Geoff looked me directly in the eyes and said, "Lucy, tomorrow is my day to provide Ellien with surprises. I hope you will forgive me for stealing your time with her, but we have some unfinished business."
Looking back at him I said, "I hope whatever you have in mind will be a jeans and t-shirt day. I am all to tired of having to dress for success."
"Baby, jeans are perfect," he said kissing me again. "I'm gone now, but be ready at 9:00am. Sweet dreams Kid, get some rest because you are going to need to be on your A-game tomorrow." Nuzzling me just under my left ear at the sweet spot, Geoff whispered, "Just be ready darlin', I am determined!" Without looking back, he walked to his car and pulled away.
Lucy looked at me, eyebrow cocked with a smile playing around her lips and said, "You just hit the jackpot without even trying." It was my turn to look at her wide-eyed as an "Oh" settled on my lips.
