San Antonio Rose
Early morning
just on the
Edge of
Waking
Breakfast smells...
Bacon frying...
Coffee perking...
Bisquits baking
Smiling, I
Snuggled in
for a few more
minutes sweet
Sleep
Ah...Aunt Inez
is Here
They must have
arrived
Late in the
Night
The sweetest
sounds are
Coming
from the living room piano
her favorite song
San Antonio Rose

My Aunt Inez and her husband, my Dad's brother lived in San Antonio when I was a small child. She loved to play the piano and they did not have one at that time. When they visited, she spent as much time in our living room as she could playing our piano. Her absolute favorite song to play was San Antonio Rose.
I love this song, love Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys version, but Patsy Cline is the version I turn to when I want to listen to San Antonio Rose.
Always I wish you peace, joy and happiness, but most of all I wish you LOVE.
As Ever, Annie
