A typical Monday, but in a way, rather laid back and easy. Nothing really remarkable happened, but it was a good day all in all. This morning was my grade level meeting with third grade. For some reason, all of us had the silly giggles. Yes, adult professional women do get to have fun while they work.
After we finished, I took time to address emails, eat breakfast and check twitter quickly. A friend posted a YouTube song that always makes me smile ... "Oh How Happy - the Shades of Blue 1966. This song came out when I was a child, but some group revised in the the 70s and I fell in love with it again. After hearing that song, the giggles of the morning turned into smiles, and grins and I just felt better all over. The day had unexpectedly turned, gray, cold and rained like crazy ... not in the forecast. I could have predicted it because my right leg and hip were screaming at me and caused me pain all day long. But, with that song running through my head, even this could not keep me from smiling. Music does that to me as you know!
The afternoon continued to be fun with lots of laughter and grins. I met for a planning session with my teachers of Gifted students in grades 2-5. We had all afternoon together to go over required student projects. Eventhough these projects are very serious for students and their teachers, we had fun with planning. Some fears and lots of questions were answered as we together worked through the requirements for their students. These projects are off to a good start and we decided that a final part of the project would be letting students write ebooks to share with the campus, family and friends....but, wait...might need to get district permission for ebooks. A quick text to the district GT coordinator asking if it would be possible, and an even quicker response --- COOOOL, I don't see why not. We are stoked about publishing their work in May when all the projects are completed. I am thinking that no one else will be writing ebooks! I still need to work through some details, but this is going to be so much fun!
My day got longer after 3:00pm. Admin meeting to work on budget. There had been a major SNAFU earlier in the year and money still needed to be spent --- by Valetine's or so we thought. This meeting went until 6:00pm which made it 8:00pm before I could get home...hence, this late blog posting. Not to best, but surely not the worst out there on the World Wide Web!
Here is the YouTube song that helped me make it through a Monday that could have been pure Hell by the end of the day, but instead kept me smiling. Enjoy!

Always, I wish you peace, joy and happiness, but most of all I wish you LOVE.
