Opening her eyes, Ellie tried to remember where she was since nothing in her lign of sight was familiar. It was still dark and music was playing softly in the background. Something familiar and a song she should know because it was stirring emotions deep in her soul.
Rolling over, she saw the form of someone else in her bed. Where was she and who was this man? Oh yes, everything was slowly coming back to her ... Lucy, a party and Geoff. What had she done?
Ellie decided to ease from the bed and try to determine: 1) what time it was, 2) if the party was still going on, and 3) just how embarrassed she was going to be when Geoff woke up?
Closing the bathroom door as quietly as possible, she realized she was fully dressed ... sans shoes. Yep, undies still intact ... so what happened after she kissed Geoff just inside her room?
Looking for her watch, Ellie realized it was just shy of midnight. So, they hadn't been upstairs very long. She knew she was tired, but did not realize just how tired since she totally zonked with a gorgous man in her arms.
Okay ... questions one and three answered, now to see if the party was still going on. Easing out of the bathroom, Ellie noticed Geoff was fully dressed also sans shoes and snoring softly. Maybe he was just as tired. Since they were both barefoot, nothing embarrassing happened unless he had a foot fetish. That very thought made her giggle!
Ellie went to the picture window in the seating area and saw Jerry and Lucy swaying gently to Cohen's Dance Me to the End of Love. She didn't see anyone else, but her room was directly over the covered patio that lead into the great room. People may have moved inside as the evening chilled slightly. Geoff looked like he was down for the count. Ellie decided to go down stairs for something to drink and have a look around.
Once downstairs, she found the kitchen empty, but food trays were filled and waiting to go out. Ellie realized she was famished and made herself a plate of goodies out on the counter waiting for serving trays. Looking out the kitchen window, she saw people on the patio chatting and eating. The continued sexy smokey sounds of Leonard Cohen met her ears again. Lucy had the entire collection and must have loaded her iPod with his music. Funny, Ellie didn't remember music earlier, but she had no idea how Geoff ended up in her bed either.
With her hand on the doorknob, a voice behind her whispered in her ear, "You can't get away from me that easily." Ellie just smiled to herself and stepped onto the patio.
